Triangle golfers have some of the most accessible and affordable private course options, according to Country Club Magazine.
Only six of the golf clubs identified in the magazine’s recent rankings of the 25 most expensive and exclusive courses in the state are in the region.
Carolina Country Club topped Triangle clubs on the list at No. 6. Raleigh Country Club was No. 12, followed by Old Chatham at 13, Governor’s Club at 20, Treyburn at 22 and MacGregor Downs at 24.
The top 10 was dominated by mountain courses, including Wade Hampton, Roaring Gap, Diamond Creek, Grandfather and Biltmore Forest.
Old Town Club, the Perry Maxwell design in Winston-Salem, was ranked as the most expensive, though no specific initiation fees or dues were cited.
