Renowned PGA Tour teaching professional Patrick Kelley is making the move from instruction full time on the PGA Tour to having his players come to him at Old Chatham Golf Club.
Kelley has taught several professional clients, including David Mathis, Brad Fritsch, Michael Putnam, Andrew Putnam and Justin Walters, who have won a combined eight PGA Tour events.
Kelley will also offer golf lessons to members and guests on the expansive practice facilities and playing lessons on the private course located in Durham. While Kelley’s lessons cover swing mechanics, short-game technique, mental preparation, he is recognized as one of the foremost putting instructors in the game today.
After starting his career as a junior player, Kelley spent a few years on Tour before switching to golf instruction, and soon had an A-List of clients. Today he has more than 100 full-time clients.
“My personality and passion for golf and helping people was better suited for teaching than playing,” Kelley said. “I am proud to bring my clients out here to Old Chatham. It offers a level of privacy and service that is unmatched and my clients feel very comfortable and at home here. My clients love the story and feel of Old Chatham. It is a unique and special place.”
“We are excited to have Patrick join our club as a golf instructor,” added John Marino, director of operations at Old Chatham. “He has years of expertise and success at the PGA Tour level and will be an exceptional asset to our members and guests. We are certain that anyone who takes lessons from Patrick will leave their session as a much improved golf player.”
