A UNC golfer has advanced to the semifinals of the North-South Amateur at Pinehurst No. 2.
Keaton Vo of Austin, Texas, who played at UNC the past two years after beginning his college career at Texas, won his third straight match by one hole in Friday’s quarterfinals to advance to Saturday’s semifinals against Ayder Fynaut, a Californian who played at Pepperdine.
Of the semifinalists, three recently completed their college careers and the other is a rising senior.
In the other semifinal, Dean Greyserman of Boca Raton, Florida, who played at Stanford, will play Joshua Bai, a New Zealander who is a rising senior at Florida.
The winners will play for the title Saturday afternoon.
